Completely overhauled in 2004, Helengeli has 50 air-conditioned beach front bungalows. One of them is a 'superior', but all are pretty special, each decorated in the traditional maldivian style which is like Scandinavian, but with darker woods.
Guests seem to be an equal mix of Brits and German.
Helengeli is located on the outer reef of the atoll. There is an unspoiled house reef is just off the beach, easily accessible to both snorkellers and divers.
The well equipped dive school is run by Ocean Pro's team of multilingual European diving instructors.

We asked the English for a football match on day 2. It was a great afternoon and lots of peoples came to the field. Sadly we lost the match, but we made lots of good english friends and had a wonderful holiday.

John is absolutely right about the Rays. They are magnificent and well worth the trip to Helengeli in themselves.
Manta Heaven
Helengeli is great for encounters with Manta Rays. I had 3 swimming around me on my first day of diving.
